PsyD Salary: What Program Graduates Earn
A PsyD salary depends on the job, and the federal figure closest to a program is College Scorecard’s median earnings of the school’s doctoral psychology graduates. Across the 50 schools with a ranked PsyD program, those medians run from $65,756 to $127,131, and the median of the school figures is $100,307.

How College Scorecard Measures a PsyD Salary
College Scorecard’s field-of-study data reports the median earnings of graduates who were working and not enrolled in further school, for a school’s doctoral psychology graduates as College Scorecard groups them, which covers clinical, counseling and applied psychology, four years after they completed or, where that is the figure published, one year after. It counts graduates who received federal student aid and reports one figure per school, so a school that also awards a PhD in the field reports a single figure for both degrees. That applies to 18 schools here.
PsyD Salary and BLS Psychologist Pay
The two sets of numbers answer different questions. BLS’s OEWS survey gives the median annual wage of every employed clinical and counseling psychologist (SOC 19-3033), $100,580 in May 2025, whenever each of them finished training. Scorecard follows one group of graduates from one school at a fixed point after they finish. Read the BLS figure for what the occupation pays, and the Scorecard figure for the PsyD salary a particular school’s doctoral graduates reported.
The clinical psychologist salary page has the BLS percentiles, states and metropolitan areas, and the psychologist salary page covers every psychologist occupation BLS measures.
Graduate Earnings in the PsyD Rankings
The Graduate Earnings factor in the PsyD rankings reads the same Scorecard figures, scored on a dollar scale between the 5th and 95th percentile of the ranked programs, and it carries 20 of 100 points. Cost is scored separately, and the lowest-tuition PsyD programs have a ranking of their own. The full method, with every factor and its weight, is on the PsyD ranking methodology page.
