About PsyD Programs

This site is built so you do not have to take it on trust. Every program comes from the American Psychological Association’s own list of accredited doctoral programs, every figure names its source, and the model that orders the programs is short enough to read in full.

About This Site at a Glance

  • Savo Media Group publishes this site. Trevor Rupe and Taylor Rupe are the people behind it, and Trevor Rupe edits it.
  • 124 programs are on APA’s list, and 117 are ranked. No school can be added by asking or left out by request.
  • Every figure names its source. Accreditation, internship match, exam results, earnings, tuition, wages and licensure rules each link the page they came from. How the programs are ranked.
  • Corrections go to hello@savomediagroup.com. They are made to the underlying data, so every page that uses the figure changes.

Who Publishes This Site

PsyD Programs is published by Savo Media Group. Savo Media Group is Trevor Rupe and Taylor Rupe, who research and publish data-led education guides like this one. Taylor sets the direction the sites are researched and written to; Trevor edits this one and answers for what is on it.

No school, accreditor or professional body, the American Psychological Association included, has any say in what is published here, and that includes the schools that buy sponsored listings. The rankings rest on the sources and rules that the methodology page names for every score, which is the only argument for trusting them that this site is willing to make.

Every program comes from the American Psychological Association’s list of accredited doctoral programs, every ranked figure from a published source named beside it, every program description from the school’s own pages with the sentence it rests on, and every licensure rule from the state board or statute that sets it.

How a Program Gets Onto This Site

The list comes from one place: the American Psychological Association’s accredited programs directory, filtered to Psy.D. programs in clinical, counseling, school or combined psychology and read on October 12, 2026. 124 programs are on it, and no school can be added by asking or left out by request.

A program is ranked when APA does not list it as inactive and its school’s own pages do not announce a closure, a teach-out or paused admissions. 117 programs clear that bar, in 33 states and territories. The 7 that do not are never scored.

How This Site Researches PsyD Programs

Each program’s description comes from the school’s own program page and from the APA disclosure table the school posts, as APA’s accreditation rules require: tuition for the incoming class, time to completion, internship placement, attrition and licensure. The sentence a statement rests on is kept with it and the page it came from is linked, so a card’s facts can be traced.

Internship match results come from APPIC’s report by doctoral program and licensing exam results from ASPPB’s report by doctoral program, both quoted with the issuers’ own cautions. Earnings come from the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard, pay from the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ May 2025 wage survey, and each state’s licensure rules from the board or statute that sets them, read on the page that carries the rule.

What the Ranking Measures

Under Methodology v2.0, every ranked program is scored against every other nationally on cost at 20%, graduate earnings at 20%, completion at 15%, internship and licensure outcomes at 15%, track record at 10%, credential alignment at 10% and program reputation at 10%. State and specialty pages keep the national scores. The methodology page sets out every step, including what was left out and why: Cost, Graduate Earnings, Completion, Internship and Licensure Outcomes, Track Record, Credential Alignment and Program Reputation are the scored factors, and sponsored listings never change a score.

What We Will Not Do

  • No school pays for a position. Schools can buy the sponsored listings Esyoh serves, which are marked as ads, but a listing is not ranked and cannot move a program’s rank.
  • No invented figures. Every number comes from APA, APPIC, ASPPB, IPEDS, College Scorecard, BLS, a state board or a school’s own page, and the source is named where it appears.
  • No guessing at missing figures. A factor with no published figure for a program is held at the median of the ranked programs and never shown for that program, so a missing number cannot lift or sink it. An unpublished tuition is held lower, at the 25th percentile, and cannot outscore the best program that does publish one.
  • No treating one measure as the whole story. APPIC and ASPPB each say their own figures are only one measure of a program, and the methodology page quotes them.
  • No suggestion that a degree is a license. Each state’s board of psychology sets its own requirements, and the state pages cite them.

How This Site Is Funded

This site earns money from sponsored school listings served by the education ad network Esyoh, which are marked as ads wherever they appear. Schools pay to appear in those listings, not in the rankings: a listing is not scored, and no listing can change a ranking. Rankings come from published records, and program details from each school’s own published pages.

Esyoh is paid by the schools that advertise with it, and this site earns a commission from the listings it shows. Where a page carries them, they sit apart from the rankings, the cards and the tables, and the privacy page says what this site shares with Esyoh.

Reporting a Correction

Accreditation lists are revised, match and exam reports come out once a year, schools change programs and prices, and state boards revise their rules. Every program card links the school’s own page and every rule links its source. If something is wrong, write to hello@savomediagroup.com with the page and the figure. Corrections are made to the underlying data, which changes the score, rather than to the wording around it.
