As a counseling psychologist the responsibilities are fairly similar to that of a clinical psychologist. With counseling you have the opportunity to work with individuals or groups as well; however, you will typically work with cases that are not as severe as cases in the clinical field. Being a counselor, you could have the option of being a career counselor for adults as well as being a guidance counselor for students.

PsyD Work Environment Options

There are many options to choose from for work environments either in counseling or clinical psychology. Some of these settings include, but are not limited to, schools, hospitals, private practices, and even self employment by setting up your own practice which could be an office inside or outside of your home. Some other types of PsyD careers are working in hospitals and institutions run by the federal and state governments.

The typical Keywords PsyD qualification is going to college for an additional 4-6 years after obtaining a bachelor’s degree.
